I think this book is interesting because unlike other books the chapters go up in prime numbers. Its not much but its enough to show the book is gonna be unique. Also the book is from the point of view of an autistic 15 year old, and that gives us a whole different view of the world, like in the first couple of chapters the boy, christopher boone, got arrested for hitting a police officer. He didn't have the intention to hurt him, but he didnt know of any other way to get the officer to stop touching him. If you think about it is very innocent in any other situation with "normal" teenagers, the reasons would have been very different such as to intentionaly harm and maybe kill the officer or to get him to let go and to make an escape. Another thing is the book starts of with a mystery and despite how early it is and how some of the characters don't seem to care, that only makes me want to find out what happened. the mystery I'm talking about is the mysterious death of Mrs Shears dog. Mrs Shears happens to be Christopher's neighbour and Christopher encounters the dead dog and is saddened by the death. With pure intentions he goes to the dog and hugs it although that is not what Mrs Shears thinks he's doing. She thinks he killed the dog and called the police which leads up to him getting arrested. After getting bailed out by his dad, Christopher decides to write a murder mystery about the dog while finding out what happened to it and who killed the dog. This interests me and makes me want to find out more about the story and it is only one of the reasons why i like this book and i hope to delve into that more the more i get into the book and the more journals I write.

At this point in the book, we are finding out things we didn't know before, and unravelling mysteries and even answering some questions asked in the first quarter of the book. In the first part of the book, we are introduced to the mystery of the dead dog and Christopher's "quest" to find out who the murderer is and to record it in his book. Christopher goes around his neighbourhood asking people if they know about who killed the dog and basicly tries to imitate his favourite detective, Sherlock Holmes. After going around asking a few of people he runs into an old lady named Mrs Alexandra who doesn't really tell him much but by their second run in, she reveals to Christopher that his mother isn't dead, but had an affair with Mr Shears then moved out with him. This is new to Christopher because his dad told him his mother died. Later in the story Christopher's dad and him have an argument which results in them exchanging blows and eventualy Christopher's dad knocks him out. When he comes to, he has some bruises and and his dad apologizes by taking him to the zoo. Christopher also finds a bunch of letters from his mother that his dad hid from him and after reading some of them he becomes sick and passes out. He wakes up again with his dad trying to clean him up and after he gets cleaned up, his dad reveals a big secret. He was the one who killed Mrs shears dog, Wellington. All this has happened and we're only 2/4's into the book. I'm excited to find out what happens next in the book.
