Journal #4 (168-224)

This was a very big part of the book, this carries on from where it left off with Christopher at the train station. Here Christopher has his ticket and is going to London to see his mother because he is afraid of his father now. All of this is going on of course because he doesn't trust his father due to the fact that he stabbed a dog and lied to him about his mother being dead. Christopher eventually makes it to his mothers street who is walking home sees him and quickly recognizes him. Her and Roger (Mr.Shears) then bring him home. Christopher's father finds out about this and then proceeds to show up at 2 am and try to make Christopher come home with him. Christopher declines and stays with his mom for awhile. Though at the end of book Christopher ends up back with his father after he passes his A level maths. Then it shows a bunch of mathematical questions and answers. I believe it was a happy ending to a very, very....very messed up book. It also shows even after someone lies to you, you can still learn to trust them again. With this I think the theme is either Things are not as they seem, or You can always learn to trust someone again.
