Journal #2 (57-112)

This part of the book is rather interesting because you really see how Christopher's autism affects his way of thinking. You see this a lot when he gets told about his mother sleeping with Mr.Shears. Christopher doesn't really react, he just says it doesn't matter because it happened awhile ago. Most people would be upset or shocked if they found out that their mother had cheated on their father. The part of the book is very interesting because we see new characters and see more of Christopher and how he thinks. (Like most of the book every second chapter is a little thing that he wants to talk about ex: Sherlock Holmes, A level maths). We also see more of what his father is like and more of what his mother was like. The thing we also see is his father hit him, but that is because he lost his temper when he found Christopher's book on the kitchen table. The book had all of Christopher's conversations with people etc. Christopher's dad got mad because in the book there was him talking with Mrs.Alexander about the death of Wellington, as well as when he finds out his mother cheated on his father. After he gets hit his father immediately apologizes and brings him to the zoo and looks after him. In all this was a very interesting section of the book with a lot of character development.

Journal 1

In the novel, it starts off with the main character Christopher John Francis Boone, who finds Mrs. Shears dog, dead on her lawn. Christopher is a very smart autistic 15-year-old boy who in incapable of lying. Mrs. Shears then finds Christopher hugging her dog and calls the police. From then on, Christopher is determined to find out who killed Wellington (the dog) after being let off with a warning from hitting the police officer. I find that so far this book is original with its chapters being only prime numbers, its narrator with his thoughts and confusion on illogical things like humor, and the little diagrams shown. Also i find it interesting that for now, he keeps mentioning a Siobhan and all we know is that they go to the same school. But somehow she always knows exactly what to do or how to talk for him to understand. Every few chapters, Christopher talks about his mother, and how she passed away. When Christopher's father came to pick him up from the police station, I liked how because Christopher doesn't like hugs they have their own way of showing they love each other by making their fingers and thumbs fan out and touch. It makes me wonder how they came up with it, and how they decided that it would mean what it means. But, despite being told by his father to keep his nose out of other people's business, Christopher is determined to find out who killed Wellington and I'm afraid it might cause some trouble.

Journal #1 (1 - 56)

The book starts off in the perspective of Christopher, a 15 year old autistic boy, who is looking at Wellington (Mrs.Shears dog) dead on her lawn. Christopher just sits there with Wellington until Mrs.Shears sees him and runs out of her house yelling and cursing. She then calls the police, when the police arrive he tries to talk to Christopher but Christopher gets overwhelmed with questions. The police officer tries to pick Christopher up because Christopher decided to lay down so Christopher hits him because he does not like being picked up. This makes Christopher get arrested so he gets taken down to the police station. Christopher's dad eventually comes to get him. After he is released Christopher decides he is going to find who killed Wellington even though his dad doesn't want him too. He then proceeds to go around the block asking people questions about Wellington's death. In the end of him walking around he decides the prime suspect is Mr. Shears. I think Christopher is very intelligent and thinks logically. He already knows quiet a few facts about murder and other interesting things. Another thing about Christopher is he loves math and science, though he has trouble with human emotions and facial expressions. Christopher's mother has passed away, he talkes about it quiet a bit but doesn't really say how he feels about it, he says how his dad feels and reacts but not his own emotions. Though you can see Christopher is very smart he doesn't seem to have much of an imagination, in his eyes everything must be logical. That is why so far this book has been very intresting and different.

Journal 1

I think this book is interesting because unlike other books the chapters go up in prime numbers, and the book is from the point of view of an autistic 15 year old, and that gives us a whole different view of the world, like in the first couple of chapters the boy, chris, got arrested for hitting a police officer but not to hurt him, but because he didnt know of any other way to get the officer to stop touching him which is very innocent if you think about it and in any other situation with "normal" teenagers, the reasons would have been very different. This interests me more about the book and it is only one of the reasons why i like this book and i hope to delve into that more the more i get into the book and the more journals i write.

Journal #1

This book so far has interested me, I'm glad i chose it. So as far as its concerned, Christopher Boon, a mathematically gifted boy of fifteen, sees a dog lying on the grass in front of his neighbor’s house with a fork sticking through of it. The dog is dead. He goes over to hug the dog and soon the neighbour, Mrs Shears, comes out from her house, screaming thinking Christopher was the killer of the dog. Officer arrives and tries to communicate with Chris but doesn't reply and the officer forced Chris up and he Hit the officer then arrested for assaulting an officer, then being released with a caution, after every few chapters Chris reminisces about his mother who passed away when he was 13 years old. With a determination for justice Christopher will not rest until he finds out who had murdered the Wellington, despite his father's orders to stay out of other peoples business he continues to predict neighbours being suspects.
